England Top 100 Players

he England Football Team is the oldest national football team in the world, playing their first official match against Scotland in 1872 and resulting in a 0 – 0 draw.

Over the next 150 years, the national side would play more than 900 matches and 1,200 players to represent their country. Selecting a Top 100 is not an easy task, although there are those who were virtually guaranteed their place, including the nine players to have reached the centurion mark (Billy Wright, Bobby Charlton, Bobby Moore, Peter Shilton, David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney) or those with phenomenal goal scoring records such as Jimmy Greaves, Harry Kane, Michael Owen and Frank Lampard.

Here, however, are those that made the grade. Each entry includes date and place of birth, details of their career, who they made their debut against and the total number of appearances (and goals), together with a brief biography. A book for England football fans of any age!
