Description
The Little Book of the Cycle Racing tells the story of the world’s greatest bike races from chaotic beginnings at the end of the nineteenth century, to the Tour de France dominance of disgraced Texan seven times winner Lance Armstrong and the introduction of the season long UCI ProTour. This is a tale of winners and losers and of guts and attrition that takes us on a journey over the muddy cobbles of the Paris Roubaix to the dust and scorching heat of the Tour de France. All of the events that go to make the new UCI ProTour are included from the great Classics to the Grand Tours of the Vuelta a España and the Giro d’Italia. The book ties in with the start of the Tour de France in Yorkshire in the summer of 2014.
